I am 58 years young . A little about my life, I’ve been in the construction and industrial field for over 40 years. I’m originally from Texas and moved here around six years ago. About two years ago I developed some lingering pains in my lower back and shoulders, I’m not one to take prescription drugs, so I tried several natural options, but nothing seemed to have lasting effects. I had been doing some research on yoga, watching videos, when I saw a post about Yoga One here in Alexandria, I contacted them and they suggested that I start with a beginner class (very glad I did). The day I went in I was not sure what to expect, but Tam made me feel at ease, it was great for me, I was the only that showed up for that class, it was like having a private session. Tam ask where I needed help and we started, I must admit it was more than I expected, It was so relaxing . The next day I was surprised how much better I felt and after several more sessions my pains were almost gone. I have been able to stretch at home to help relieve some pain that may bother me, thanks to Tam.

I really like the time we take at the beginning of our practice to find our breath. With a busy week of finals, yoga class with Tam has definitely helped my mind walk away from all of my other classes!

I would highly recommend taking a yoga class from Tam. Especially if you are a beginner. She explains each pose and is so patient. I feel so centered and relaxed after taking her classes. Check one you, you will not be disappointed!

I am new to Yoga. Tam opened my eyes to the benefits of yoga... specifically paying attention to details in form and breathing! Awesome instructor... loved her class. She kept us engaged and encouraged us to breath through the poses to increase the stretch. Thanks Tam you're amazing!

Thank you for the Fall beginners yoga class. I really enjoyed the class and the benefits of doing the exercises. I have found improved flexibility and balance with each session. I have also found muscles that I was under-utilizing. You made the class easy for me as a yoga novice to follow and to surprise myself of what I was capable of.

Tam is a very well trained and knowledgeable yoga instructor. She is always very thorough and specific in giving instructions, and reminds us often to modify any pose as needed to accommodate our own bodies. She is a warm, genuine, and passionate yoga instructor and offers needed adjustments during our practice. She always takes time before we begin practice to determine if her yogis have any special poses or soreness that we might wish to include in our practice.

Tam is a great teacher that takes the time to explain the postures and to meet the individual needs of each student. She does a great job of making sure everyone is able to practice at the level they are at, no matter what class or skill level of the student. She is also very personable and makes everyone student feel welcomed.

Yoga class is amazing! Tam brings so much of herself to the class; she checks in with everyone at the beginning of class to address each person's area of concern. Tam also teaches for all levels of experience, so no matter your physical abilities, you are able to to participate. My favorite is not only the physical improvement, but mental relaxation and improved focus.
